Every year the color experts over at Pantone select the color of the year. Last year they selected tangerine tango and orange was popping up everywhere you looked. This year we'll be seeing whole lot of green. Emerald green that is. Here is a mood board the folks over at Pantone put together to illustrate the color. 1.Paint: Paint is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to experiment with color. If you have $20 for some paint and a whole lot of elbow grease you change the whole look of the space.
If the green walls feel a bit overpowering to you try pairing it with a lot of white accessories. Gold accents also pair really well with emerald.
Are emerald green walls still a bit too much for you? How about painting that old frame or dresser you have laying around?
2. Fabric is another great way to introduce color. Add some emerald drapery panels, pillows, or even a great throw to transform your space.
3. We also love to introduce color through art work and accessories. If you keep your rooms and big ticket items pretty neutral you can have a lot of fun planning with color and changing the look of your space just with the art and accessories. If you're someone who likes to play with trend and swap out your color pallette a lot accessories is a great way to do that without breaking the bank.
4. Greenery: Is emerald still feeling a bit too bold for you? How about introducing some greenery into your space? It brings in a lot of great texture and color without screaming for attention. We recommend preserved boxwoods, moss, succulents, and herbs. Stay away from that ivy though.
6. Do you still want to get in on the emerald green fun but it just won't work in your house? How about adding it into your wardrobe? Nailpolish, shoes, bags, statement necklaces, and earrings are great way to add a pop to any outfit. Emerald jeans and cardigans are also easy to add to your wardrobe.
So are you in love with emerald? How are you going to incorporate it into your house and wardrobe?
