What the Heck is a Julep Cup?

We wanted to introduce you to one of our favorite finishing touches when decorating a room: the julep cup.  What is a julep cup you may ask?  In the design world, it is a floral arrangement in a small (usually silver) vase.  When composing a table scape, layering varying heights and textures is key and the julep cup is a great way to acheive that.  If you take a look at some of your favorite rooms in design magazines and online you will see a common element: florals.  Fresh florals are usually used in those shoots but since we live the real world where getting fresh flowers delivered weekly is most likely not an option, we often use really great fake  flowers permanent botanicals.  We reached into our inspiration files and compiled a few examples of julep cup arrangements in use.[gallery link="file" order="DESC" columns="2" orderby="post_date"] Our favorite places to use julep cups are bed side tables, side tables, on a tray on cocktail table or ottoman, and on a bathroom vanity.  They are also a great way to add a pop of color into the space.  We have an assortment of nickel plated julep cups with a variety of flowers at LIV Showroom that would add the perfect finishing touch to any room.  Stop in and we can introduce to  our friend the julep cup.
