Style File: A Classic Kitchen

Putting a style “name” to one of our projects is often so hard! For the most part, each project has a core style that’s pretty easy to identify. But often there are details that can take that style in several directions- such as more glamorous, rustic or modern. In this case, this home in progress (sheetrock phase…it’s about to get exciting!) has a fairly classic kitchen. Today we are highlighting this classic farmhouse style we’ve done a few projects over the last year. Weathered finishes and leathers combine with creamy whites for a clean vibe that’s not too stuffy. We added in bronze finishes to keep the home more earthy. Throughout, this home has a few rustic details for a refined farmhouse feel.

We love that clients don’t hire us for our one style fits all approach, but for our design process and detail. Oh, and usually they just like us!

Here’s the visioning for the kitchen and a sneak peak of some cabinet details. We start here to give us direction for the home and then start selecting exact finishes and materials.

Here are some of our favorite projects and designers that give us inspiration and ideas on how to pull of this classic and warm look.

First, Marie Flannigan won’t be surprised to be highlighted here on our blog…again. Her style is always clean and classic, but never feels cold.

Builder Lane Myer with the help of designer Caitlyn Creer created this great space that has the same warm and classic vibe we are going for. Classic lines, leather, tufting and white trim are all elements we see and use to create this style.

The Ancient Modern home by Establish Design and built by Jackson & Leroy is an inspiration to many more homes than just our client. The home is a relaxed traditional home. We love the warm wood details.
