FINANCE CONTROLLER 

Not your average bookkeeper.   Defender of small business money. 

We are seeking a part-time Controller to work as a part of our talented and creative team in Bountiful, Utah.   This position will be the Finance leader for the team.  The Controller will direct the financial activities necessary to realize the growth goals of the organization.  The Controller will be integral in establishing economic strategies, objectives and policies to protect the company’s assets while minimizing the company’s liabilities.  

 We are looking for someone that enjoys working within a creative and fun environment that is results driven.

Controller Duties

·         Manage all components of bookkeeping and financial information and bill payment

·         Supervise account managers performing financial reporting, AP/AR, accounting, billing, and collections

·         Oversee accounting department bi-monthly payroll, time tracking, sales tax payments and all quarterly and annual tax filings for the business, including state and federal withholdings, unemployment, etc.

·         Manage all bank account reconciliations and deposits

·         Assist with determining billing rate multipliers, establishing expense and overhead budgets, and set goals for annual revenue and profitability

·         Pursue cost savings opportunities through collaboration to support Company cost goals 

·         Ensure design teams are billing appropriately according to goals 

·         Monitor and analyze sales and expenses

·         Monitor financial activities and details such as reserve levels, cash management, and inventory

·         Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance, and tax personnel to facilitate financial activities.

·         Implement new processes to improve the effectiveness of the accounting systems

·         Create, maintain, and update financial databases and spreadsheets, and generate project profitability and other various financial reports as required.

·         Maintain appropriate records and documentation

·         Make recommendations to management to improve the financial performance of the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

·         Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field

·         Have at least 2-3 years of experience managing financial data

·         Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

·         Meticulous attention to detail

·         Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications with knowledge and skills in related software, databases, and spreadsheets in an integrated computer environment.

·         Advanced knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, practices and payroll accounting procedures.

·         Good judgment and discretion in dealing with sensitive and private information; and professional tact and ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters appropriately.
