Timeless Kitchen Remodel
We've been busy at Liv with several large new construction projects (with looong timelines), so we always love a great kitchen remodel with a fast turnaround (because the best part of what we do is seeing the "after"...and the happy clients).
We recently completed the expansion of this kitchen so the client could get a much needed larger and more functional space for her family to gather. A wall came down between an underused living room and family room and we added six feet to the kitchen and dining spaces to make room for a much needed island. The result was a large great room with enough space for the entire family (including the dogs...be sure to sneak a picture of one of the cuties below).
The husband vetoed white cabinets so our challenge was to bring a fresh feeling without the white cabinets. We brought the white into the backsplash and paired it with classic natural walnut cabinetry. The navy island breaks up the walnut and still keeps it classic so the kitchen will have longevity. The homeowner had recently replaced her dining light which she loved and wanted to incorporate it into the design. With the new layout it didn't make sense to have the light over the dining table, so we opted to install it over the new island.
Some other ways we kept the new space fresh and light was the lighter floor, lucite knobs, and glass cabinet doors.
