Dining Room Design Board
Here's another installment of our introduction into our design services. We've shown you the entry and the living room and we're now ready to move on into the dining room. This dining room is a bit of a "walk through room" and connects the living room to the kitchen. Here are the before pictures. (Wow those are some bad shots. We definitely are not photographers.) This room as 2 passageways and a large door to the patio. To keep the traffic pattern clear we're recommending a round dining table and buffet opposite the patio doors. Here are our concepts for this room.We wanted this room to have a lived-in and collected look. A rustic table paired with more formal vintage chairs painted a fresh color help to create a space with a little history to it. To make the room have more of a presence and not just be the "walk through" room we recommended a bold wallcovering with a modern bird pattern (you know how much love birds!). To help ground the wallcovering we suggested painting all of the trim and the wall beneath the chair rail a dark gray color (this color ties back in to the accent color in the bookcases in the living room.) Because the wallpaper is so bold and is art in and of itself, we thought a great collection of vintage plates would be a great way to add dimension to the wall without being too busy. We also recommended an oversized lantern designed by Ralph Lauren through Visual Comfort (available through our LIV showroom). Here's the color palette for this room.We are completely in love with this wallcovering! We're hoping we'll be able to share some after pictures with you soon.
