This remodel was a former builder's model. While there were many upgrades in the home, the interior was designed to be rather neutral including dark wood floors, tan walls and dark cabinetry. Liv Showroom + Design was tasked with creating a bright and airy space with a lot of white and cream with pops of color throughout, to better reflect the homeowners personal taste.

We began by brightening the space with light and color. To illuminate the drab color scheme, we selected a soft yet warm gray for the walls, multiple tones of white and cream in the furniture and decor, and white finish work. Additional accent lighting was added with a table lamp and two floor lamps.

Ample seating was added including built-in benches, a comfortable and oversized sofa, two high-back chairs, a stool, two bright poofs and a love seat. An area rug in a bold color anchors the seating group, and bursts of colorful pillows are scattered throughout the arrangement.

Originally, the fireplace had a small mantel that felt out of proportion to the overall space. We beefed up the look by adding a larger one and taking it all the way to the ceiling. The dramatic effect adds additional white detailing while creating a strong focal point. On wall is a gallery of photos of extended family and a collection of the family's favorite books.
